Violet leaves hold such beautiful Medicine, not the least being its capacity to soften toughened skin. That makes this Soft Salve one of my mainstays for my rough garden hands and my tough barefoot soles. Not to mention elbows and knees. I even use it to condition my face and neck, and even though it absorbs surprisingly well for a salve, when used in massage its glide has a lasting quality that delights!
I even keep a bottle near my kitchen sink where one squirt after dishwashing helps to moisturize, condition and keep my hands from chapping.
In addition to being a fine skin softening, this liquid balm soothes inflamed skin and is supportive for rashes and eczema. Violet leaf, as oil, Soft Salve or balm, has a respectable tradition among herbalists, especially those of the Wise Woman Tradition, for use in breast health as a breast massage medium.
I create this liquid salve by first handcrafting an infused oil of fresh Viola odorata leaves in olive oil, and then blending strained and filtered oil with beeswax and LoVe. As always: LoVe.
This convenient pump bottle contains 2 fluid ounces of violet leaf salve, and each pump dispenses a small amount, which is preferred, since a little goes a long way.
There's no fragrance added to this salve, as it's part of my NonScents line, which features unscented options, free of essential oils, and that expresses a conscious honor to the plant world, the realm of my Rooted Ancestors.
