What pleasure I experience creating these Spirit Pouches! The act offers me yet one more creative practice that is a sacred ritual - offering me time and space of intuitive stillness and focus. My intention is that the peaceful, healing experiences I realize during the creative process mesh and meld with you as you use it and wear it.
Tuck an intention inside this little Spirit Pouch called "Sanctuary" so that you may wear it close to your heart as a tangible reminder of that which you shelter.
"Sanctuary" was created in a sacred manner, as with all my Spirit Pouches, as I offered each hook, hitch and stitch a blessing of love and healing, counting the stitches with mantras of reiki and other loving invocations.
This one of a kind Spirit Pouch is made with a vintage 1970s (non-GMO) cotton floss fiber in a rich, yet subdued mossy green. Using the same floss, I hand spun a Spirit Cord to attach to the pouch to serve as the "strap." I finished off the flap of the pouch with a wee vintage 1960s shell button.
"Sanctuary" measures 1.5-inches by 2-inches and the strap is 22-inches in length.
Spirit Pouches may be used in as many ways as you can imagine!
Some folks use them in gift-giving, to tuck a small gift inside to give to a loved one. I often carry an item of personal meaning inside mine as a reminder of a focused intention! On occasion, when I receive or find a small item that I'm unsure how to put to use, I'll tuck it in my Spirit Pouch with intention for clarity and then wear it around my neck, near to my heart, until guidance is felt and offered to my conscious awareness. I'm rarely disappointed.
While I may call this little bag a Spirit Pouch, you may recognize the names Medicine bag, mojo bag, amulet bag, or something similar. To me, these are all names offered for a kindred item with like intentions.
Be well ... be inspired, by Nature!
